FS Pro | Client Liaison Officer
Aaron played football for numerous clubs at academy level including Leicester City, before joining Finance Shop in 2016.
Following his passion for football, Aaron now manages client relationships in our FS Pro division, dealing with high net worth clients, and in particular, professional sports people.
Aaron is a passionate Arsenal fan and in his spare time he continues to play and watch football at every opportunity. Aaron also spends plenty of time socialising with friends and family.
Trainee Personal Assistant
Adam joined Finance Shop in June 2018, after completing a finance course at a local college. Adam enjoyed his finance course so decided he wanted to pursue a career in the finance industry at Finance Shop. Adam is hoping to gain further experience and qualifications soon.
Outside of work Adam enjoys going to the gym, going to new places and spending time with friends and family.
Andy is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Andy joined Finance Shop in January 2003, after working as an Adviser with a High Street bank for over 15 years. He advises on all aspects of financial planning, including investments, pensions, mortgages and equity release. He has advanced level qualifications in pensions, investment planning, taxation and trusts, and is a fully accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). He is also an Affiliate member of the Society for Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having achieved a distinction in the STEP Certificate for Financial Services (Trusts and Estate Planning) qualification.
Chief Investment Officer
Andy joined Finance Shop in 2014 from Investec Wealth and Investments, where he spent 16 years working as one of the fund management team responsible for running their Multi-Manager products. Andy has responsibility for running the Finance Shop Wealth Management model portfolios, and he chairs the Finance Shop Investment Committee. In addition to his day to day responsibilities he also assists our Advisers in constructing more complex portfolios, and is developing a number of initiatives to enhance our range of investment solutions.
In his spare time Andy enjoys playing and watching sport.
After working in the Health and Social sector for a number of years, Ashlea joined Finance Shop in 2018 and is keen to develop her knowledge and skills in the financial services industry. Finance has always been one of Ashlea's interests, so this role has given Ashlea an opportunity to further her career in a new direction.
In her spare time she enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and football.
Trainee Personal Assistant
Charley started as an apprentice in January 2016 having decided on a career in finance after leaving school. Charley has since completed her apprenticeship and is now training as a Personal Assistant. Charley is looking forward to widening her knowledge and skills within the industry.
Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan
Charlotte joined the Finance Shop in December 2017 as a Trainee Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan. Charlotte is keen to pursue a career within the financial services industry and is eager to learn more. Charlotte enjoys spending quality time with her family, travelling abroad and socialising.
Technology and Development Manager
Chris joined Finance Shop in 2016, having spent the majority of his career in IT. Chris originally started his working life as a chef, reaching an AA rosette for his cuisine, before making a career change to IT. Chris earnt a number of Microsoft and CompTIA qualifications in IT whilst working his way up to become the manager of a large IT support team, which he managed for a number of years.
Chris has a strong focus on using technology to make lives easier, so aims to use his wealth of experience to help all areas of the business. His main responsibilities include HR, IT and Business Development.
In Chris’s spare time, he enjoys a number of sports - playing football, pool and golf regularly. Chris also has a young family, so spends the majority of his spare time on family days out.
Independent Financial Adviser
Chris joined Finance Shop in 2010 after advising clients face to face for a widely recognised insurance firm since 2006.
Gaining the DipPFS diploma and transitioning to an Independent Financial Adviser with Finance Shop has given Chris the ability to offer a greater service to clients both old and new, who also often refer their friends, colleagues and family members to him.
Chris likes to pride himself on going through the finer details and putting together a practical plan for clients that is well researched and thought out.
Personal Assistant to Mark Wallis
Clare joined Finance Shop in June 2016 and is a Personal Assistant to Mark Wallis. She has worked in the financial services industry for several years gaining experience in Pensions, Investments and Protection and holds her Certificate in Financial Planning. She is keen to continue gaining more qualifications and progressing her career.
Outside of work Clare enjoys reading, cinema and nights out with friends, however, most of her spare time is spent with her children and their various sports clubs.
After two years at East Norfolk Sixth Form, Connor Joined Finance Shop in April 2018 as an Apprentice Accounts Assistant. Connor is keen to pursue a career in the financial industry, whilst also flourishing at the opportunity to learn more and face new challenges.
Outside of work, Connor enjoys playing squash and most other sports. He also enjoys socialising with friends and family.
Donna joined Finance Shop in September 2010 after several years working as a personal clerk for a large retailer. Donna’s role was originally Accounts Assistant, however she has since progressed to Accounts Manager and has completed a Diploma in Accountancy. Donna manages the Accounts and Commissions team, and deals with the day to day accounts tasks for the company.
Team Manager (Scott Oliver)
Emma started her career in finance working for a mortgage broker, where she gained lots of knowledge within the industry. Emma later joined Finance Shop in September 2011 as Investment Operations Manager, overseeing the administration of client portfolios within the Wealth Management Team. In late 2018 Emma has moved teams to manage Scott's support team, bringing a wealth of experience.
Emma spends the majority of her spare time with her family.
Iona joined the Finance Shop in 2017 initially as a PA to Nick Buchan. Iona then progressed to become the first Paraplanner for Finance Shop after completing her Diploma for Financial Advisers qualification later the same year. Iona now supports Nick in providing advice on Retirement, Investment & Tax Planning solutions and also manages a number of Group Pension Schemes on Nick’s behalf.
Iona is originally from the west coast of Scotland and graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Masters degree in Economics. Iona has worked in Insurance and Financial Services for over five years and has previously advised on Mortgage and Protection products.
Iona has always wanted to pursue a career in Financial Services and is now working towards Chartered status.
Outside of work, Iona enjoys playing Tennis and spending time with her friends and family.
Jess joined Finance Shop in June 2018 as an Accounts Assistant. After working in a high street bank for 7 years she decided to pursue a career in accounts. Jess is looking forward to gaining more knowledge and hopefully working towards an AAT qualification in the future.
Outside of work Jess spends her time with her children and enjoys days out together.
Jim joined Finance Shop in January 1995, following over 20 years banking experience with 2 High Street banks, where he held various management positions.
Based in our Gorleston office, he specialises in the mortgage side of the business, calling upon 20 + years experience in the independent mortgage market.
Personal Assistant to Andy Cunningham
Jo started working for Finance Shop in October 2003 as a full time Administration Assistant in the Gorleston office and was promoted to a Personal Assistant, working for Paul Dashwood for a number of years. Jo now works part time as a Personal Assistant to Andy Cunningham in our Lowestoft Office.
Outside of work Jo enjoys spending time with her family - especially family holidays, yoga and visiting her favourite restaurants.
Kate joined Finance Shop in April 2016 as an Apprentice Administration Assistant after finishing a business qualification at Great Yarmouth College. She was keen to start a new career in the financial services industry that will allow her to progress into many different routes. Kate has since successfully completed her apprenticeship and has taken up the role Trainee Personal Assistant to Scott Oliver.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys socialising with her friends and family.
Team Manager (Nick Buchan)
After taking a career break to have children, Louise decided to change direction and in 2008 she took the exams needed to qualify as a Financial Adviser. She joined Finance Shop in January 2009 and, after initially working as an Adviser dealing in investments and pensions, Louise moved to our Norwich office in September 2010 to work as a Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan. Louise is now Team Leader to Nick’s PA’s and administration support staff.
After completing A-Levels in 1988, Mark joined a high street bank, where he progressed to become an adviser working in the areas of pensions, protection and investments. In May 2005 he decided to broaden his horizons and joined Finance Shop as an Independent Financial Adviser. Having gained his Financial Diploma in 2012, and with 25+ years experience in financial services, Mark offers down to earth friendly advice to all types of clients in all aspects of financial planning.
Wealth Management Team Manager
After graduating with a degree in mathematics from the UEA in Norwich, Michael joined Finance Shop in December 2011. Originally working as a Scanning Assistant, he has subsequently worked in many areas of the business, and is now part of the Wealth Management team based in Norwich.
Outside of work, Michael has a keen interest in aviation and is a qualified Private Pilot.
Senior Co-ordinator | FS Ventures
Michelle has been working in the financial sector since 1990, having previously worked for a building society. After taking a career break to bring up her two children, she joined Finance Shop in 2011.
Michelle has undertaken various roles since joining, but in 2017 she helped set up FS Ventures, which she continues to look after and is expanding year on year.
In her spare time she enjoys Kettlercise, Boxing, Metafit and going to the gym and getting out on the golf course.
Assistant Compliance Officer
Mike joined Finance Shop in 1997, having spent several years working for a large insurance company, where he gained a solid grounding in the areas of personal insurances, pensions and investments. Whilst initially working as an Adviser, he began to split his time between advising and Compliance, and this eventually led to a full-time move to a Compliance role. Mike is always looking to increase his knowledge and has completed the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning qualification.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys reading, travel and history and with his family now grown up is hoping to spend more time on leisure activities.
Client Relationship Manager
Naomi started at Finance Shop in August 2013 as an apprentice Administration Assistant. She was keen to start a career where there was the option to work her way up and progress.
Having successfully completed the Apprenticeship, Naomi was promoted to a Personal Assistant working within Nick Buchan’s team. In 2019, Naomi completed the Diploma for Financial Advisers qualification and is now a Paraplanner.
Outside of work Naomi enjoys running, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan
Tash joined Finance shop in March 2018 as a Trainee Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan, having recently relocated to Norfolk. She previously worked for HM Land Registry where she became an Executive Registration Officer after successfully completing her Business Administration Apprenticeship. Tash is keen to widen her knowledge and skills within the industry.
Outside of work Tash enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the theatre and performing in bands and musical theatre productions.
Nick joined Finance Shop in 2002, and has subsequently been a Partner / Director of the firm for over 15 years. His whole career has been in financial services, previously working with TSB / Lloyds TSB before joining Finance Shop. Nick specialises in the fusion of financial advice and tax planning for high net worth clients. Nick also heads up FS Ventures and FS Pro which are services offered to high net worth clients, and in particular, professional sports people.
Outside of work, Nick is a lifelong Liverpool fan and enjoys spending time with his family.
Independent Financial Adviser
Nick has been dealing face to face with clients in the financial services industry since 2002, during which time he has worked for a high street bank in a number of positions, and as a fully qualified Financial Adviser since 2010.
Nick joined Finance Shop in 2013 as an Independent Financial Adviser and his aim is to develop long term relationships with new and existing clients, and to help them meet their financial goals and aspirations.
Away from work Nick enjoys keeping active and spending time with his family.
Trainee Personal Assistant
Oscar is currently working as an Apprentice Administration Assistant in Nick’s team, after joining Finance Shop in July 2018. Oscar has always been interested in pursuing a career in the finance industry, having studied finance at a local college from which he was offered a scholarship from the London Institute of Banking and Finance. Early in 2019 Oscar passed his RO1 exam as a part of his apprenticeship, showing he has gained plenty of industry knowledge since joining the company.
Outside of work he enjoys playing and watching football, socialising with friends and family and travelling to different parts of the world.
Petra joined Finance Shop in April 2014, however after 8 months decided to take a 6 month break to travel around the world, returning to Finance Shop in June 2015. Previously Petra spent 8 years working for a local insurance company as a Customer Service Team Leader.
During her time in the industry Petra has dealt with customers on a daily basis, which has included processing pension business for Group Personal Pensions and dealing with Pension Auto-Enrolment. Petra is one of a team of Personal Assistant’s to Nick Buchan who liaise with clients and assist Nick with the preparation and research involved in providing independent financial advice to clients.
Team Manager (Consultants)
Poppy joined Finance Shop in July 2015 as an Apprentice Administration Assistant after deciding on a change of career path from the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Poppy’s role was originally Apprentice Administration Assistant, however she was promoted to a Trainee Personal Assistant working within Nick Buchan’s team. After completing her training and progressing to Personal Assistant, Poppy was promoted to a team manager and now leads a team of her own.
Poppy enjoys spending time with her family and friends outside of work.
Reagan joined Finance Shop in October 2017, as PA to Scott Oliver, having spent the last few years in Human Resources. Whilst working in Human Resources in the Oil and Gas industry, Reagan gained her CIPD qualifications and gained a wealth of experience in people management as well as providing PA duties to the Directors.
Reagan is looking forward to new challenges and widening her knowledge and skills within the industry.
Personal Assistant to Andy Parkes
After graduating with a degree in photography from Norwich University of the Arts, Rebecca joined Finance Shop in February 2016. She was keen on a change of career and to learn more about the financial services industry. Rebecca started with the company as an Administration Assistant in the Investment Operations Team. Since then, Rebecca has developed her skills to earn herself the new role as Andy Parkes’ Personal Assistant. Rebecca is keen on progressing within the company by taking industry qualifications.
Outside of work, Rebecca carries on using her degree to take photos in her spare time
Richard has been in the insurance industry since 1991, when he began working for a large insurer. This gave him a good grounding in the industry, and in 2006 he joined Finance Shop after running a small IFA practice.
From this point on Richard decided to concentrate on the areas of protection and mortgages, and now also works closely with Nick Buchan on the corporate business side, dealing mainly with business introduced to us by accountancy connections. As well as new clients, Richard still deals with people who he first helped many years ago.
Outside of work he enjoys family life, and his interests include fishing, playing golf and reading.
Ryan joined Finance Shop in April 2018 as an apprentice having completed his Maths degree a year prior. Since joining, he has been designated to our Wealth Management team, which he enjoys as it allows him to put his Maths degree to good use. Early in 2019 Ryan passed his RO1 exam as a part of his apprenticeship, showing he has gained plenty of industry knowledge since joining the company.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys gaming and going out with his friends whenever he can.
Sam joined Finance Shop in July 2010 following over thirteen years with a high street bank working in business risk and the retail sector. As the Practice Manager she is responsible for running the day to day operational aspects of the business, and the Human Resources side. Her experience also extends to managing payroll, pensions, staff benefits and recruitment.
Samantha previously worked for a high street bank, and after taking time out to have a family she joined Finance Shop in December 2008, initially as a part time Customer Service Assistant for a building society agency we held at the time. When this closed and we took on an agency for the Ipswich Building Society, Sam continued to work on this side of the business.
More recently Samantha has been working in our Accounts department and on the administration side of the firm.
In her spare time she enjoys watching a variety of shows and socialising with family and friends.
Director & Chartered Financial Planner
Scott has been a financial adviser for over 25 years, joining Finance Shop in 2002. He was instrumental in developing the highly successful Advisory Portfolio Management service, which now manages over £300 million in client assets. He also is deputy fund manager to Andy Parkes on the Discretionary Portfolio Management service.
Scott has achieved the prestigious Chartered Financial Planner status. He enjoys advising individuals on all aspects of their financial planning, and in particular enabling clients to enjoy life without any financial worries.
Married with two daughters at university, Scott enjoys travel and football.
Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan
Tina has worked in financial services for thirteen years gaining experience in mortgages and business banking. Tina is keen to widen her skills and knowledge within the industry.
In Tina's spare time she enjoys cycling around Norfolk and hiking in the Lake District
After leaving college at 18, Tom worked as a Team Leader at the Co-op supermarket in Loddon and Blofield. He was looking to start a new career in finance so began studying for the AAT qualification. He joined Finance Shop as an Apprentice Accounts Assistant in May 2017 and is keen to learn more about the financial services industry and accounting.
Outside of work. Tom enjoys playing football, watching most sports and going to live music events.
Independent Financial Adviser
Tracey came to Finance Shop in 2003 as an Independent Financial Adviser, after working as a Senior Manager for a High Street bank. She has extensive experience in the financial services industry, and advises on investment and pension planning, planning at retirement, mortgage advice and the related life / critical illness / home insurances.
Tracey’s aim is to provide the very best service, and she takes pride in the time she spends reviewing client’s existing plans and policies to see if more favourable alternatives are available. In addition to this much of her work comes from clients recommending their friends and colleagues, and she also has Solicitor and Accountancy contacts that refer their clients regularly.
Travis started working at Finance Shop as an Apprentice Administration Assistant in August 2018, which allowed him to follow his passion for finance and mathematics. Travis works within the Wealth Management team and is hoping to develop his career further in this area.
In his spare time Travis enjoys cycling, football, badminton and working on his custom built PC at home.
Trevor joined Finance Shop in January 2006 following 33 years with a high street bank. During his career in the financial services industry, Trevor has had a number of roles, including Bank Manager, before moving to advising on mortgages, pensions, protection and investment business, and more latterly to compliance for the last 5 years he spent with the bank.
Since joining Finance Shop Trevor has continued to update his knowledge for his compliance role, and has subsequently completed his Diploma in Financial Planning. Trevor’s main aim is the training and development of staff and advisers to ensure an excellent standard of service is given to our clients in this ever changing industry.
Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan
Tori started working at the Finance Shop in November 2017 as a Trainee Personal Assistant. She previously graduated from an Executive PA Diploma course in Oxford as an alternative to going to university and is now training to become a Personal Assistant to Nick Buchan.
In Tori’s free time she plays hockey for her local hockey club and is currently taking a Bookkeeping course.
Senior Personal Assistant
Vic started working for Finance Shop in December 2005 as a full time Administration Assistant. Just over a year after joining the company Vic was promoted to a Personal Assistant. Vic continued in this role until she left to have a baby girl in May 2016. After a years maternity leave, Vic returned to work within the Consultants team and has since become a Senior member of the team with her many years of experience.
Outside of work Vic enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter on family adventures. Along with holidays and trips away with close friends and family.
Zoe joined Finance Shop in April 2021 having worked in the financial services industry for 10 years. She spent most of this time working for a high street bank in various roles and later as a buy to let mortgage advisor. Zoe is looking forward to taking her career in a different direction with this role and gaining further qualifications to broaden her knowledge within the industry.
Outside of work, Zoe enjoys spending time with family and friends and going on long walks with her dog.
